Our innovative approach integrates locally sourced clay, plant and agriculture waste materials, and eco-friendly construction techniques to create modern, affordable, resilient homes in West Africa. From urban centers to rural areas, we're committed to empowering communities and building a brighter future for all.
The Problem

In West Africa, rapid urbanization and rural housing challenges have exacerbated the demand for Housing. The population is expected to reach 2.4 billion in 2050 with 70 percent occurring in cities. Moreover, the use of steel and cement contributes to 9 percent of global carbon emissions and is expected to double by 2060, there is an urgent need for sustainable building materials and resilient and environmentally friendly housing solutions.
Communities grapple with inadequate housing, while the impacts of climate change, including heat waves and extreme weather events, further compound these challenges. It's clear: a sustainable approach to housing is urgently needed to address these pressing issues.
The Solution: Eco-friendly building Materials and Carbon-neutral Construction
BioTerra offers a pioneering solution to West Africa's housing challenges. Our approach combines innovative design, and locally sourced materials to create sustainable housing solutions that are tailored to the needs of the region. By integrating traditional building techniques with modern design principles, we're able to provide affordable, resilient, and eco-friendly homes for growing urban and rural communities

By harnessing the power of natural materials and Nubian vault construction techniques, we reduce reliance on energy-intensive construction methods and promote environmental sustainability by reducing the use of steel and cement.
Sustainable Affordable Building Materials
Unlike steel and cement which contributes to 9 percent of global carbon emissions, our homes are constructed using a combination of locally sourced materials made from clay and plant and agriculture waste aggregate. These materials are not only abundant and cost-effective but also offer excellent thermal properties, keeping homes cool in the face of rising temperatures. Our materials can also be recycled into new building materials with the same high quality, eliminating construction waste.
Adaptation and Mitigation to Climate Change
BioTerra building materials are designed to adapt to and mitigate the impacts of climate change in West Africa. The use of locally sourced materials and passive cooling techniques helps to regulate indoor temperatures, reducing the need for artificial cooling systems and lowering energy consumption. Additionally, our homes are resilient to extreme weather events, providing safe shelter for communities in the face of climate-related disasters.
