About Our
Organization
Thinking Global. Planning and Building Local.

Civic Village International is a registered Canadian non-profit organization operating in Liberia, West Africa with a mission of reducing poverty, and regional inequalities and promoting social development through community-led development. We aim to provide community toilets with sanitation, access to clean water, and renewable energy. We also aim to build low-cost homes, schools, and community health centers in impoverished urban and small rural communities using locally available materials and carbon-neutral construction processes to foster sustainable development under the force of climate change.
Our organization aims to promote eco-friendly development, sustainable agriculture practices, agri-food business, skills, and trade development to facilitate green social enterprises to achieve social and economic prosperity.
THE CURRENT REALITY
Regenerative Farming & Agriculture Development
Civic Village is fighting against poverty experienced by small-scale farmers and continuous food insecurities by investing in local farmers and working with local households to increase their food production yield to reduce subsistent farming and end hunger experienced by families and children.
Sustainable Rural Planning, Building and Development
We are reducing housing insecurities by creating rural planning and sustainable infrastructure by working and consulting directly with communities to build sustainable long-term and durable houses sourced from local materials that respond to their social and environmental needs.
Improving Access to Clean Water, Sanitation and Hygiene
Our organization aims to prevent future outbreaks of waterborne diseases that vulnerable communities are exposed to due to lack of access to safe drinking water and sanitation. By improving access to clean water, sanitation, and hygiene communities will have greater health outcomes.
Accessible Education in Sustainable Classrooms
By building durable schools from sustainable earth materials in rural communities, we will be reducing the education crisis in rural communities by increasing children's access to quality classrooms and reliable teachers by also providing accommodation for them.
